About TwoTankHome.com
I bought a house with a septic system and propane heat. That combination puts you in a weird no-man's-land when it comes to home advice online — most guides assume you have city sewer and natural gas, and the ones that don't are either written by contractors trying to upsell you or generic content farms that scraped a few articles and called it a day.
I got tired of that. So I built TwoTankHome.com.
Everything here is written from the perspective of a homeowner who actually runs both systems. I've dealt with a full septic pump-out, negotiated with propane suppliers, worried about running the tank low in February, and figured out what's actually worth paying a pro for versus what you can handle yourself with a YouTube video and a wrench.
What you'll find here
Practical guides on septic maintenance intervals, what things actually cost, how to troubleshoot common problems, and when to call someone. On the propane side: how to shop suppliers, understand pricing seasons, choose appliances, and make sure you never run out at the worst possible time.
Where a product recommendation makes sense, I'll link to it (sometimes via Amazon's affiliate program, which means I earn a small commission at no cost to you). Where you need a licensed pro, I'll point you toward the Find a Pro page.
What this site is not
It's not a contractor directory, a real estate site, or an SEO factory. There's no team of "content writers" here — just me, trying to answer the questions I've had to answer for myself over the years.
If you've got a question I haven't covered yet, the Find a Pro page is the best place to start — describe what you're dealing with and I'll try to connect you with someone who can actually help.
Have a specific problem?
Describe what you're dealing with and we'll help you find a local septic or propane pro.
